Pregnant Mother, This Needs to Be Prepared Before Undergoing Caesarean section

Caesarean section is stressful and sometimes unpredictable. For that, pregnant women need careful preparation in order to go through the process of caesarean section calmly and smoothly. Caesarean section is usually done for pregnancies with certain conditions, such as placental disorders, pregnancy infections, narrow pelvis, and breech or transverse baby positions. Caesarean section can also be done suddenly in an emergency, for example if the delivery process takes too long or if there is fetal distress.

Things That Need To Be Prepared

Maintaining ideal weight gain during pregnancy is the main thing to do if Bumil plans to undergo a cesarean section. The aim is to reduce the risk of complications during surgery and recovery. In addition, there are six things that pregnant women need to do in preparation before a caesarean section, namely:

1. Prepare luggage

Most pregnant women who will undergo a cesarean section need to stay in the hospital since 3-4 days before. If the doctor recommends so, Bumil needs to prepare luggage in advance. Some of the items that must be prepared by Bumil are underwear, nursing bras, changing clothes, sanitary pads, drinking straws, sandals, blankets, and wet wipes. For underwear, choose one that is made from comfortable and not tight, so as not to hurt the stitches in the abdomen. Then also prepare a variety of baby's needs, ranging from clothing, fabric, blankets, gloves and socks, to baby seats for cars. Do not forget, remind Dad also to prepare a change of clothes, along with a variety of equipment needed for an overnight stay.

2. Prepare entertainment objects

Waiting for the moment of birth of your child by caesarean section may make pregnant women anxious or nervous. Therefore, pregnant women can prepare various things that can be entertainment or distractions, such as reading books, films, or music players that contain playlists of favorite songs. This is useful to make pregnant women calmer when going through a caesarean process. Some doctors also usually allow pregnant women to bring their own favorite music to be played during a cesarean section.

3. Do not use makeup

Before arriving at the hospital to undergo a cesarean section, doctors will usually advise pregnant women not to use make up, face cream, and nail polish. This aims to make it easier for doctors to check Bumil's condition before surgery. Also, don't wear contact lenses too.

4. Bath with antiseptic soap

One day before a caesarean section, your doctor may suggest pregnant women take a bath using antiseptic soap, to reduce the risk of infection during surgery. For the same reason, pregnant women are also usually recommended for shaving pubic hair. If you find it difficult, ask the nurse at the hospital to do it.

5. Routinely check yourself to the obstetrician

This is certainly not to be missed by pregnant women who are going for a cesarean section. Routinely check with your obstetrician is important to monitor the health condition of pregnant women and the fetus, especially if pregnant women have certain conditions that require caesarean section. With routine pregnancy examinations, doctors can be aware of various risks that pregnant women may experience during a caesarean section, so that doctors can prepare a mature plan to avoid those risks. Don't forget, tell your doctor all the concerns you feel and ask for clear information. The goal is for pregnant women to understand very well about pregnant pregnancy conditions and the things that will be faced, including caesarean procedures and preparations. Giving birth by a caesarean section can indeed be stressful. Perform the steps above so that pregnant women can be more calm in the face of surgery. So that pregnant women are more prepared, ask for advice from obstetricians about what things are needed in accordance with the conditions of pregnant pregnant mother.
